The Motorcheck FuelCard has been offering Motorcheck customers a fixed price on petrol and diesel at Topaz outlets for just over four years now. The card has been extremely well received and we thought it was high time that it had a place of its own on the web.

Say hello to – www.fuelcard.ie. On the new site you will be able to see at a glance the current price on the card as well as browse the various special offers available.

The card remains free of charge and continues to give 4 week’s interest free credit on all fuel purchases. One new feature of the service is the option to subscribe for free sms alerts that will inform you on a weekly basis of the coming week’s prices. This way you can avoid any price increases by filling up before they take effect and similarly take advantage of price drops by waiting for the lower prices.

Special Offers

To wish us well with the new site, Topaz have given us two special offers for all current (and future) Motorcheck card holders.

Buy any Top Wash (RRP €10) for €4 when you pay for your petrol or diesel using your Motorcheck fuel card and;
Buy any sandwich at the participating outlets and get a free can of coke – all you have to do is show your Motorcheck FuelCard.

The Motorcheck FuelCard is free for anyone to apply. No purchase at Motorcheck.ie is necessary and you will automatically qualify for the special offers that will be promoted on site from time to time.

First Free Topaz Gift Cards Sent

You may remember the Topaz promotion we announced back in March? Well I’m pleased to say that the first round of free gift cards were sent last week to hundreds of lucky card holders nationwide.

I’m also delighted to say that the offer has been extended for the period June – August 2010.

This means that anyone using their Motorcheck fuel card to purchase a minimum of 500 litres in the three month period (that’s roughly 35 litres a week) will qualify for an exclusive Free Topaz Gift Card credited to the value of €20!

As before, the gift card will be posted to you automatically and can be used to purchase any non-fuel items (Coffee, Sandwiches, Drinks, Chocolate, Bread, Milk e.t.c.) at participating outlets.

Motorcheck and Topaz formed a partnership three years ago to bring the benefits of a ‘fixed price’ fuelcard to private car owners in the Republic of Ireland (you can read more about the service on our main site here but main benefits include – a free card, 1 month’s interest free credit and a guaranteed fixed price at Topaz stations natiowide).

There are over 15,000 fuel card holders using the card at present and the latest statistics for all transactions show that over 90% of purchases are at or below the pump price.

Of course the final saving will depend on local competition but as an average it’s a great result!

Card Pricing

The fixed price on the card changes every week at midnight Friday. Please remember – the card is a fixed price and if you use it at a station where the pump price is lower, you will be charged the higher card price.

Each card holders receives a free SMS every Friday afternoon indicating what the price will be for the following week. This way you will always know when to buy and avoid any crazy price hikes! For those of you in the know, the 2010 Irish Blog Awards will take place on March 27th in Galway.

We’re relatively new to blogging here at Motorcheck but we must be doing something right as we’ve been made the shortlist under the category ‘Best Blog of a Business’.

Blogging – dead? I don’t think so……

A quick glance at the breadth of talent on the short lists makes it clear that the blogosphere is thriving and growing in multiple directions.

It’s a privilege to be mentioned in the same category as such hugely committed bloggers and we’re looking forward to a great night in Galway.
