- Passenger Vehicles includes vehicles such as Saloons, Hatchbacks, MPVs, Jeeps, Coupes, Convertibles, Crew Cabs, Buses and Motor Caravans.
- Commercial Vehicles includes vehicles such as Car Derived Vans, Jeep Derived Vans, Pick Ups, Vans, Light Commercials, HGVs and Agricultural Tractors.
- Motorcycles includes vehicle such as Motorcycles, Scooters and Mopeds.
- New Vehicles are defined as vehicles registered for the first time in Ireland as brand new previously unregistered vehicles.
- Imported Vehicles are defined as vehicles registered for the first time in Ireland where the original date of registration is prior to the current year.
