This video posted today on the BBC Website highlights the extent of the car-clocking problem experienced by UK car buyers.
Unfortunately a significant number of the cars mentioned in the video make their way to Ireland and end up being sold to unsuspecting buyers here. While not illegal, Car-Clocking is a very dangerous practice that can compromise the safety of a car as well as making it very difficult to sell on in future.
With over 3 million readings already in the Irish National Mileage Register, thankfully the number of clocked cars identified daily by Motorcheck is rising but there are still buyers parting with hard earned cash without checking a car’s history.
