A New and Unique package from Ford provides added reassurance in strong used car market

Cork, April 15, 2009 – As more buyers opt for quality second hand cars as opposed to new models, Ford Ireland www.ford.ie and its network of dealers around the country have put in place FordSelect (www.fordselect.ie), a quality used car programme that provides the highest levels of assurance to Irish customers.

“Let’s face it, second hand car sales have traditionally had an image problem”, according to Ford Ireland chief, Eddie Murphy.  “There was always a certain element of ‘hope for the best’ when buying a second hand car.  Our new FordSelect programme is aimed at taking the worry out of second hand car sales”.

In preparing the FordSelect programme, Ford and its dealer network identified the past history of a car as one of the major concerns of an average second hand buyer. To address this issue, once a customer has found their ideal car on the FordSelect website, a full Motorcheck vehicle history report can be downloaded for free (normally costs €35).

No fear of unknown with FordSelect

At each stage of the decision-making process, the emphasis has been placed on reassurance for the customer, eliminating fear of the unknown where possible.  The provision of the 101-point Autocheck, roadside assistance and the Motorcheck report each provide added layers of reassurance for FordSelect customers.

For example, the Motorcheck report looks into all key areas of the vehicle’s background such as whether the car has ever been ‘clocked’, written off, used as a taxi or whether there is any outstanding finance on the vehicle and whether the paperwork is valid.

The special finance package from FordCredit available to FordSelect customers means they can get quick approval on a loan at a competitive 6.9% APR fixed* on all FordSelect models, based on a minimum 25% downpayment.
